What the heck am i going to write about after the olympics are over?

Anyway, i was just 'peruzing', (hrm, lets check that spelling in word, cause me thinks its horribly off the mark ,,, checking ,,, well all be, i was pretty darn close, its really spelt 'perusing') through the medal standings, Germany is in first place with a whooping 32 medals (the first to break 30 medals in the winter games if i'm not mistaken), and to put things into perspective, this is more then twice the number of medals of the current 4th place country (Austria with 15), and Nearly 3 times as many as Canada (who currently sits in 6th).

The big 3 for the winter games are unsurprising, Germany, the US, and Norway. What is surprising is the medal differnce that seperates them from other Countries. Sure, its great for them, their winning, but whats the point of all these smaller countries coming out to the games if they can't even get a bloody medal! I think that this may become a major issue in coming years, as these small countries spend their small fortunes on training athletes who ultimately don't win a darn thing. Women's Hockey is a perfect example of this; whats the sense in a country starting a team if they won't stand a chance against Canada or the US.

Welp, that was my bit of insightful thinking for the night. I think a forum would be neat on this page, so that if anybody does read this, and happens to disagree with what i'm saying, or wants to support what i say, they can comment.

My writing seems pretty unclear tonight, sorry for any foginess. Taking all three high schools maths this semester may be killing my creativity, Though if i keep writing in here i'll hopefully be able to maintain some (once again, sorry for the foggy babbling and such).

I'm off to study finite,
peace out, Fake Pleather Chairs for All!

Alright, I really don't have anything to write about tonight (this morning, whatever). Canada picked up a couple of bronze medals in speed skating tonight woohoo!, and the Mens Hockey team has advanced, knocking out Finland. Anyways, I though i'd upload some screenshots from WarCraft III for your viewing pleasure, click one of the thumbnails below to check out the full sized image:

I think the last one is probably the neatest, seeing a load screen on a warcraft game is just really weird to me.

Oh well, if you like what you see, click on over to Blizzard's Page, and see what else they have in the oven!

Peace out, zug zug, and work complete.

Alright, i've got a little beef with the CBC and TSN. Nothing major, just something incredibly simple that would probably make olympic viewers all over Canada a little bit happier. At all times they should have a little icon somewhere that says whether what you are watching is taped, or live. It should always be on the screen, and not just pop up every now and again. I don't know how many times i've been watching something I thought to be live, only to find out that it was taped. In most of these cases i know what the outcome will be, but because i don't see one of said icons, i presume this to be another event.

Come to think of it, this is probably why the icon isn't on the screen, the more viewers that think they are watching something new, the less ratings would drop, and hence they can charge more for commercial space and the like. Still though, i think that 'viewer satisfaction' should come first, and therefore CBC and TSN should cut us viewers some slack, and take two minutes to program the graphic.

I haven't really been up to anything myself, i always tend to be glued to the screen during the winter olympics ( I really prefer them to the summer games, the events look to be a lot more fun, bobsleigh rules! ).

Anyway, I've got some Calculus homework to do, and 10:30 seems to be about the start of my 'able to think' time of night (odd, its also the time that i usually finish work) I'd better get started on it.

Peace out,
Insert snappy remark here:

I won a game!!!

I take everything back that i said about warcraft iii, it IS an excellent game. Theres nothing like slaughtering an oppenent into the ground to really open ones eyes to a games potential, and slaughter i did. For anyone who cares, I think the best race to go with is the orcs, call me old fashioned, but the learning curve is small, and the brute force ever present.

I'm still having some framerate issues when i go into battle, but i blame my old tnt2 ultra (i paid 300 bucks for the thing when i bought it, maybe more, memories are fuzzy). the fan on it is starting to go, and well, the engine on Chitty Chitty Bang-Bang didn't make so much noise.

I encourage anyone who likes games like Command And Conquer, Heros of Might and Magic, and anyother RTS/RPG (they call it an RPS now i guess) to definetly check Warcraft iii out. You can get some screens and info on units and stuff like that Here.

I really should go and do some homework now i guess, getting kind of late, but i do better work at night.

So anyways, the entry after this one we'll call "Saturday Night's Entry", this would be the Sunday Evening one. I'm writing in this thing nightly, so be sure to check back every now and then, the last ten posts will be displayed on the main page, with access to old ones via the Archive.

Peace out, and keep those crazy carpets sliding!

Well that was certainly an interesting Men's 1000M final. I was shocked at first that there was not going to be a rerun of the event, but heck, its more fun this way. Imagine what the medalists will tell their kids when they ask about how they won their medal : "Well, i slid on my a$$ across the line".

A big Congrats to Australia for getting their first winter olympic gold, once again the stories about the race are going to be great.

Anyways, thats all i've got tonight, or this morning by time this gets posted (though the time on my laptop may be fast, and it is still in fact the evening, unless of course the clock is slow, and it is the morning, oh well, blogger shall decide!)

Canada's Goal for these winter olympics : Come in third via medal standings; it's gonna take an awful lot of figure skating judges to get that to happen :^)

Remember, when all else fails, complain that you've been cheated!
