Where Have All the Good People Gone?
Last time I checked, Manners were still to be used

So I've decided that people no longer give a shit about anything. And in the same breath, why should they?

I can't remember a time when everything was happy and people helped other people. Neither can my parents. Today's society is built on lies. The rich get richer, and the middle class / poor stay that way.

An example of this that comes to mind are big box stores such as Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire. One stop shops. Great right? Well sure, you can get everything you need without having to travel all the way across town to other shops.

Heres another way to look at it, all your money is also going to the same place. Being publicly owned corporations, that money is put into the pockets of the board members, and miniscule dividends to share holders. When there were seperate hardware / grocery / houseware / fashion stores, your money stayed in that store, it wasn't shot to some faceless group of jack-asses.

The people around a desk running big box companies can't see the people they're affecting, and therefore they don't exist, and shouldn't be cared about, so long as the money keeps coming in.

Theres too much shit in the world right now to flush. Priorities need to be set. The amount of shit astounds me. I can't think of anyway to write justice to it here.

Peace Out
Theres more important things in life to care about

Whats A Sell-Out?
And How Much Does One Cost?

Theres been a lot of banter over at The Metro about the current state of the music Industry.

One of the ideas touched upon has been 'Selling Out'. I'd like to comment a bit on selling out here.

So what exactly is a sell-out? To me, a sell-out is a person, or group of people who release an album, knowing full well that its crap, simply so that they can rake in the dough, and stay in the lime light.

The idea of the 'Sell Out' helps fuel piracy. If a group is not willing to put effort or creativity into their new album, why should I pay money, that I used effort and creativity to earn, to purchase their pile of crap?

Can you see the cycle? A lot of people now beleive that music today is crap, and will only download it. Artists don't get nearly as much money from album sales, and hence release more crap to compensate. A Snow-Ball effect.

Heres the tricky part, how do you stop it? Shine light on the snow to melt it. Artists/Recording Companies have to find a way to show fans that they appreciate the people who purchase their products. The way I see this happening is having artists take their time and release what they beleive to be their best work. If something is truly good, people will buy into it. If you build it, they will come.

Peace Out
Could I have a C Minor Please?
