Integrity
Drawing the Line

Where do you draw the line on what you stand for? Is it cleary defined, or a blur? Is there a line at all? What do you do when your morals are called into question?

It seems the older I get, the more these questions eat at me. And to the extent of my thinking, I doubt I'll be coming up with an answer anytime soon. Its like being caught in the middle of a tug of war, where each side is as strong as the other.

And though it be a crowded space,
the middle is a lonely place,
caught between walls,
the bearer of falls,
and keeper of secrets from all.

So how do you deal with it? Do you shrug it off, and continue on with your everyday life? I can't possibly see how you could. Your morals are always there, pinching you. Perhaps some people develop a calice, while others a rash. Would you think less of yourself after compromising?

I would, but I'd learn from it. So how is it that some can regularily overlook their own self beleifs, and not show any regret? Questions that are all inexplicable. We are, after all, animals. We weren't around a billion years ago, and we probably won't be around a billion years from now. So what does it all matter? It doesn't.

Yet here I am, scratching the hell out of my brain, trying to put a point to it all, knowing full well I won't be able to. Funny isn't it? I can't help but think of a monkey some thousands of years ago, sitting on a rock, inventing something of great importance, and realizing it. Realization is the key. The poor thing probably wasn't even trying to invent anything, but rather stumbled across it, and said 'hey, this is good'.

The way we live, and the standards we live by are all based on what that monkey did. Look around you. If that monkey hadn't realized anything at that particular moment in time, theres a good chance nothing around you would be the way it is now. We also assume that whatever that monkey did, it must have been a good thing. What if it wasn't? Wouldn't that bring our entire way of life into question? And what could we do about it? Nothing. So then, are my morals moral?

Life is too short to care. If an asteroid is going to hit the earth, an asteroid is going to hit the earth. Ignorance is bliss. Your given your life on this planet, do with it what you will, but don't waste it. This is how we've come to be what we are, we've done what we can to better the short time we're here. Realization is still key. Realize why you do the things you do, and appreciate them.

Dedicate yourself to a cause you feel to be worth your life. Your morals, your guide.

Peace Out,
Time is Limited, so is Life, Don't waste time, Don't waste Life
