You can't advance philosophy by studying it, just like you can't get clean taking a bath in water that the rest of the village has used for their own bath's already. A fresh head and your own perspective are what bring about new ideas.
In order to advance in the hockey pool tonight I'll need a miracle, I only have Recchi playing. Of course Phillie's playing pittsburgh, so maybe getting a crap load of points off of one player isn't that far off :)
