The Microsoft Machine One Honestly Wonders What Nintendo is Thinking...
Alright, here we go.
Nintendo has sold its secound party game developer 'Rare' (Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie, Star Fox Adventures, Conkers Bad Fur Day) to Microsoft, developer of X- Box.

Now. Nintendo claims that Rare hasn't been accounting for enough of their software sales, and when they were given the option to out-right buy the company, they refused, and instead opted to sell any shares they already had in the company. Which is fine, but for craps sake, to Microsoft !?!?!? Sell the shares to somebody thats not going to force rare into releasing exclusive software! Sell the shares to a person so that Rare becomes a third party, and hence will still release games on Nintendo's council, still allowing Nintendo to profit off of their games.
And to say that Rare isn't accounting for as much of nintendos profits as it had in the past, well of course its not, I'd like to see a developer that is making as much money as it had in the past. The development time for games has sky-rocketed now with expected 3D Graphics. And with Development times higher, development costs go up too. Its cost millions of dollars to create and develop a decent game these days.
This is exactly why Rare hasn't made as much money for nintendo. It takes too long, and it costs too much. Rare is a company with very high standards. It wouldn't subject itself to releasing unfinished crap because Nintendo wants a little more of the green.
Nintendo seems to have become an impatient little sh!t of a company lately. I don't think i plan on keeping my GameCube much longer. I'll wait for the new Zelda game and thats it. Bye Bye. More then likely I'll get an X-Box, if any system. Its not that I like Microsoft, I think that its a biggoty company with an evil stradegy formed from the honest stradegies of companies that its bought. But they've got the right idea, buy good companies, fund them well, don't b!tch about development times, release good games, make money. Thats something Nintendo can't quite get through its thick head.
If theres anything almost releiving about the fact that Nintendo has ousted Rare, its that the games that were switched over to the X-Box have taken a rather disturbing Anime Turn. Joanna Dark from 'Perfect Dark' has apparently been renamed 'Joanime' Dark. shutters. Kameo has also been subject to the cell-shaded makeover. Though thats still 3+ games that the GameCube won't see released.
In closing. Bad Nintendo, Bad.
Peace Out. Snacks will include fried shrimp gullets.
