Snow Day And In April No Less!
Well, this is the first time i can recall having a snow day in April. Though I'd really have to call it more of an ice day, as everything seemed to be covered in about an inch of it. It took a good twenty minutes to scrape the shit off the car today. I considered taking a picture to post with this, but I would have been late for work, and the nazi punch clock would have eaten any of my future children (long story behind that). So anyway, no picture, and its too dark to take one now, maybe tommorow (or I guess tommorow is now today).
Pity work decided to remain open, I would have liked to have an entire day off. Ah, and I was supposed to have a lab test today, which has now been put off until next friday, heheh, sweet. Unfortunately at the same time the other lab I had today will have to be made up some time, plus I have to do the lab that I would have done on good friday. I'm sure the Prof will working something out though, cause thats a bit much to ask for.
Next weekend is uber weekend. A whole lot of good times in two days. On Saturday Matthew Good at the Hamilton Convention Centre, and on sunday, The Mandarin with a bunch of fun people from work. Which leads into Finals at School, and then a glorious four months off. I've been waiting for four months off of school since bloody kindergarten. Sure i'll be going full time at work, but I'd rather do just work for four months then both together.

The Holdinator By God, Thats Only $2,
I got the sweet microphone pictured below from a buck or two yesterday. It was only $2, and works like it cost fifty cents. Oh well, the looks make up for all. I feel like a could really bust some G money verses when I'm sporting that peace of bling bling.
Also picture is this crazy little gizmo I have to hold things when i solder stuff. It looks like a person, and is so therefore deserving of a name. Rothar the Holdinator.

The point of this update? To counter out the tone set by the 'Breaking News' rant.

Breaking News We've Tired of The War, Now Returning To Regular Programming
The United States is at war. Last week, it was everywhere, of the 30 someodd channels I get, 11 of them featured dedicated war coverage, all day.
Not this week.
This week not a single channel is covering the war 24/7. There are no more cameras mounted on buildings gaining air time. So what Happened? Did the war suddenly become less important then it had been when it started, and if so, why is the united states still fighting it?
The war is in fact just as important as it was last week, only now its boring. The television viewer has had their fill of the early proceedings, and now chooses to watch ER or Survivor while people die in the middle east. Think of it as a channel running the simpsons twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Thats got to get boring, but the simpsons are a cartoon, not a reality.
Its quite convienant that Americans can turn a blind eye to Iraq. I doubt Iraqi civilians are kicking back and watching 'Friends' while all this is going on. It's disgusting really, why buy a car if your not going to drive it, or aknowledge that it even exists?
So now that I've gotten into the whole war thing, I guess I'd better offer up my standpoint,
I'm damn proud to be Canadian right now. I'm not against the war, Suddam is a bastard, and he deserves to be taken out of power. I am however, against how the war was started. If the US can simply brush off the UN and do things the way they want it done anyway, then whats the point of the UN? The power or the UN or any government comes fromt the respect of the people under it, as in a democracy, the government is in fact made up of those people under it.
If everyone in Canada decided that they wanted to shoot the person standing next to them, theres not a thing the government could do to prevent it.
So essentially what the US has spat in the face of world politics. World politics provide communication between nations, and with no communication, things can only go downhill.
The really interesting parts of this war are not going to happen during the fighting, but rather afterwards, when the true impact on how the world works start surfacing. It's interesting age to be alive, be that a good or bad thing.
Peace Out looking forward with a cautous eye
